Abstract: These short reports are intended to inform the public, industry, and other interested parties of the current studies of the Commission's staff and the basis for conservation measures. Reports will be published from time to time when studies are sufficiently complete to provide reliable biological evidence for conclusions upon which regulations are based. Research Briefs are free and may be obtained upon request from the Fish Commission office.

Purpose: Contains the following publications: The Umpqua River Shad Fishery. Observations on Pulp and Paper Effluents and the Probable Effects of This Pollutant on the Fisheries Resources of the Willamette River in Oregon. A Study of the Water Supply at the New Marion Forks Hatchery on the North Santiam River. The Salmon Catch of the Sports Fishery in the Coastal Rivers of Oregon in 1949. The 1949 Soupfin Shark Fishery of Oregon.
