Description
- Abstract: The document is an executive summary on the Planning for Sustainability of Groundwater Resources in the Mosier Valley, of Wasco County, Oregon.
-
- Purpose: Pumping and well-bore leakage has led to long-term water-level declines in basalt aquifers and reductions in groundwater discharge to Mosier Creek. The Mosier Watershed Council is working to find sustainable strategies that will restore and maintain the groundwater resource and support the local agricultural economy. A better understanding of basalt aquifers and methods to characterize them is needed.
