Description

Abstract: An excellent opportunity was afforded to observe growth of horseclams of the one-year-plus class when it was discovered April 7, 1950, that a newly formed mud flat in Yaquina Bay, formed September and October 1948 by fill from dredging operations, had thousands of young horseclams embedded in it. Because the horseclams spawn in February and March principally, these clams would of necessity have to be of the 1949 spawn, or one-year-old class.
