Description
- Abstract: Tagging and sampling was continued during this period as
outlined in the previous report. Chinook salmon continued to be
abundant off Coos Bay and large numbers were tagged, while silvers
were more numerous off Newport. No tagging was attempted during
August off the Columbia; instead a great amount of time was spent
on tag recovery 1.n the Astoria area. It is felt that this was
well worth-while since it resulted in the recovery of a number
of tags that probably would not otherwise have been saved.
Sampling for marks was continued along with average weight, catch/
unit of effort, length-frequency studies, etc.
