Description

Abstract: The Troll Salmon Management Program was established in 1967 as a joint state-federal activity and has been funded through the provisions of the Anadromous Fish Act (PL 89-304) since that time. Information obtained from this program is used to develop appropriate management options designed to achieve the wisest use of the ocean salmon resource. Activities pursued during FV 1975 involved troll fishery sampling including the collection and compilation of catch statistics, chinook age composition, and mark and coded-wire tag recovery data. Short-term work was conducted on a summary of salmon length frequency data, analysis of past ocean salmon tagging studies for migration information, and evaluation of a troll season extension off southern Oregon.
