Description

Abstract: The goal of the project was to characterize the quality, quantity, and use of winter concealment habitat by juvenile spring Chinook salmon Oncorhynchus tshawytscha in hatching areas of the Grande Ronde River Basin, Oregon. The objectives of the project were to 1) assess the relationships between quality and quantity of winter concealment habitat, fish density and size of juvenile fish; and 2) determine when the juveniles shift to winter concealment behavior and identify the factors influencing that shift. ODFW, Eastern Oregon Fish Research (EOFR)
