Description
- Abstract: The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife conducted a rockfish stock assessment
study on Heceta Bank off central Oregon in 1980-81. Biological data
taken from trawl catches are summarized in this report. Sampling was conducted
at sea on a near monthly basis throughout a 13 month period. Special emphasis was
placed on Canary rockfish which was the dominant species in the study area.
Data collected included: species composition by area and terrain type, food
habits, maturity, time of spawning, size composition, age composition and
incidence of controversial species.
