Abstract: The 2013 pink shrimp (Pandalus jordani) season will begin on 1 April and will extend through 31 October. This newsletter provides a summary of the 2012 season for your review including catch, effort and market sample information, plus possible indicators for the 2013 season. This year, we’ve included an important section describing a proposed “target and limit reference point based management system” plan for Oregon pink shrimp that will be crucial for maintaining Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification. We’ve also included our annual research plan, which prioritizes our research efforts during 2013 (another MSC certification condition).
