- Abstract: Razor clams are distributed along the entire Oregon coast, but over 90% of the harvest is taken from the south jetty of the Columbia River to Tillamook Head south of Seaside. This 18-mile area is called "Clatsop Beach" and is further divided into "North", "Gearhart", and "Seaside" beaches.
This report was prepared at the request of the Oregon Fish and Wildlife, Commission which expressed concern over the activities of the commercial razor clam fishery. The report summarizes what is known about the Clatsop Beach razor clam fisheries and their effect on the resource.
