Description
- Abstract: The record contains a compendium describing methods for data collection and analysis of Viable Salmonid Population (VSP) indicators and metrics that are submitted in the format of the Coordinated Assessments Data Exchange Standard (DES) for the Mid-Columbia River Steelhead Distinct Population Segment (DPS) in Oregon. Goals of this report are to provide updates to data collection and analysis methods for a significant subset of the natural origin spawner abundance (NOSA) and recruits per spawner (RperS) datasets, indicators, and metrics. The VSP indicators are used to assess the current status of the populations in terms of extinction risk. These abundance and productivity VSP indicators are submitted in DES format to the ODFW Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Tracker website and StreamNet annually. Full DES records can be quite large tables and are not presented in this compendium. Full DES datasets are available for each population by download on the ODFW Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Tracker website (http://odfwrecoverytracker.org). In addition, the DES data is provided to NOAA Fisheries for status reviews and are also available for download on their Salmon Population Summary database and on the StreamNet database (https://www.streamnet.org/data/coordinated-assessments/). Populations include: Fifteenmile Creek (FIF), Deschutes River Westside (DRWST), Deschutes River Eastside (DREST), John Day River Lower Mainstem (JDLM), North Fork John Day River (NFJD), Middle Fork John Day River (MFJD), South Fork John Day River (SFJD), John Day River Upper Mainstem (JDUM), Umatilla River (UMA), and Walla Walla River (WAWA),
-
- Purpose: This record is a storage container for methods descriptions of data collection and analysis of DES data that can be downloaded on the ODFW Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Tracker website and the StreamNet website. The record also includes data analysis flow diagrams that provide a pictorial view of data collection and analysis of VSP indicators and metrics.
