Description
- Abstract: The record contains a compendium describing methods for data collection and analysis of Viable Salmonid Population (VSP) indicators and metrics that are submitted in the format of the Coordinated Assessments Data Exchange Standard (DES) for the Snake River Steelhead Distinct Population Segment (DPS) in Oregon. Goals of this report are to provide updates to data collection and analysis methods for a significant subset of the natural origin spawner abundance (NOSA) and recruits per spawner (RperS) datasets, indicators, and metrics. The Interior Columbia Technical Review Team (ICTRT) uses the VSP indicators to assess the current status of the populations, in terms of extinction risk. These abundance and productivity VSP indicators are submitted in DES format to the ODFW Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Tracker website and StreamNet annually. Full DES records can be quite large tables, so data presented in the compendium are a meaningful subset of the data fields in the full NOSA and RperS DES. Full DES datasets are available for each population by download on the ODFW Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Tracker website (http://odfwrecoverytracker.org). In addition, the subset of data available in this compendium match data provided to NOAA Fisheries for status reviews and are available for download on their Salmon Population Summary database and on the StreamNet database (https://www.streamnet.org/data/coordinated-assessments/).
-
- Purpose: This record is a storage container to transfer DES data to the ODFW SQL Server and the ODFW Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Tracker website. Annual data and database updates will be provided and stored with this record. The record also includes the following files for describing the data; metadata, data analysis flow diagrams, and method descriptions.
