Description
Abstract: Oregon Conservation Strategy ecoregion boundaries are maintained by the Oregon Department of Fish and WIldlife (ODFW), and are used as a geographic organization within the Strategy to prioritize Strategy Species, Habitats, limiting factors, and recommended approaches. All ecoregions except the Nearshore ecoregion are provided from the Oregon Biodiversity Information Center (ORBIC) March, 2010 ecoregion dataset (which is originally based on US EPA Level III Ecoregions). The Nearshore ecoregion, including the Coast Range/Nearshore boundary, were provided from the Oregon State Boundary dataset, provided via the Oregon GEO Spatial Data Library (with credit provided to BLM). Juristidictional boundaries were used to ensure all of Oregon is divided into appropriate ecoregions, as defined in the revised Oregon Conservation Strategy, and clipped at the Oregon state line. All ecoregion boundaryes are presented at a coarse scale representation , in particular the Nearshore ecoregion, which by definition includes some portions of estuaries and the entire inter-tidal, (or splash) zone.

Purpose: Provide coarse scale boundaries for the ecoregions documented within the revised Oregon Conservation Strategy.

Time Period of Content: 7/1/2016
Geographic Extent: statewide
Status: Final
Use Constraints: Ecoregion boundaries are presented at a coarse scale, and data set should not be used as definitive boundary lines between ecoregions.
Format: Zipped ESRI Shapefile
