Description
- Abstract: This report describes surface - groundwater interactions in the Walla Walla River between the WA-OR border and the town of Milton-Freewater. It includes detailed sections on seepage, vertical and horizontal hydraulic gradients, and chemical signatures. It also provides geologic and watertable mapping, conclusions, and recommendations.

- Purpose: In 1999, federal mandates required the release of water for fish passage in the Walla Walla River. However, the river ran dry at the site of an old gravel quarry. The purpose of this study is to better understand the dynamics between the shallow aquifer and the Walla Walla River.
