Description
- Abstract: This annual report is in fulfillment of contract obligations with Bonneville
Power Administration which is the funding source for the Oregon Department of
Fish and Wildlife project “Annual Stock Assessment - Coded Wire Tag Program
(ODFW)”. Results for the 2004 contract period:
Objective 1 – In 2004 over 1 million juvenile salmon were coded-wire by this
program (Table 1). This accounted for about 23% of the fish ODFW coded wire
tagged in 2004 for release in the Columbia Basin.
Objective 2 – In 2004 ODFW recovered and processed over 55,000 snouts
collected from coded-wire tagged fish (Table 2). In addition, during 2004
we verified over 2,000 coded-wire tags recovered and returned to ODFW by
other agencies.
Objective 3 – The survival data summarized below includes results for coded-wire
groups funded by this program as well as coded-wire groups funded from
other sources.
