Description
- Abstract: Tillamook Bay was formed over 9,000 years ago when sea levels rose to inundate the mouths of five rivers. Now hydrodynamics within this large bay - and sedimentation patterns - are very complex. This report reviews what is known on the subject and adds results of a recent study. Chapter titles include: surface sediments--a determination of sources and transport paths; surface sediments--geochemical investigations; history of sediment accumulation--a study of core samples; and synthesis--sediment sources, history of sediment accumulation and management implications.
