Description
Abstract: The purpose of this document is to track the placement of salmon carcasses in streams. Fish carcass placement replaces some of the nutrients historically available to fish from decaying carcasses no longer present in large numbers. Nutrients provided by these carcasses are cycled through the food chain and become available to salmonids primarily through insects, consumed by salmonids as food. Information gathered from this analysis will help determine whether to continue, modify, or discontinue the carcass placement program. The monitoring and evaluation component of this project will investigate food web responses, along with other important factors

Purpose: Track the placement of salmon carcasses in streams.
