Abstract: Twenty-two miles of the Mosby Creek mainstem were surveyed by ODFW Aquatic Inventories Project in the Summer of 2008. This was conducted in partnership between the Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council, Weyerhaeuser, and ODFW Springfield, with support of Friends of Mosby Creek and BLM. OWEB funded the survey on the lower reaches, Weyerhaeuser matched/funded the inventory on their lands which encompass the upper two-thirds of this free-flowing tributary.

Purpose: The Mosby Creek Aquatic Habitat Inventory developed as a strategy to determine with certainty the limiting factors in this priority tributary for both the Council and Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW). Formation of a broad partnership began in 2006 when ODFW began stocking juvenile and adult spring Chinook on Weyerhaeuser property in this free-flowing tributary. While ODFW Research Section, Weyerhaeuser, and BLM had done inventories over a decade ago, the purpose of this study was to document current conditions both as a comparison, and to garner data for preliminary project designs.
