Description
- Abstract: The goal of this project was to assess riparian and channel conditions for the portion of the South Fork Coquille River below the Forest Service property ownership. Channel and riparian assessments had been completed in the upper portion ofthe watershed. This assessment was to be landscape based and goals were to:
- Seek to define overall current channel function
- Seek to define current riparian conditions
- Seek to define what acceptable channel function would be
- Seek to define those areas capable of supporting vegetative controls to stabilize
embankments
- Seek to define those areas where channel morphology and hydrological forces are driving stability beyond that controllable by vegetative measures Provide recommendation for reach based channel treatments to promote channel stability
-
- Purpose: The original purpose of this project was to complete a technical assessment of the South Fork Coquille River. This assessment was intended to focus on riparian and channel condition assessment as well as filling critical water quality data gaps. The information gathered during this assessment will be utilized to fill critical data gaps relating to TMDLs and aDA management planning
