Abstract: The Willamina watershed assessment was prepared for the Yamhill Watershed Council (YBC). It contains technical information about the past and present watershed conditions. The watershed assessment contains a background section that includes information on the watershed's Physical Location, Population, Climate and Topography, Geology, Vegetation, Habitats, Noxious Plants, Fire History, Sensitive Species, Land Use, Mining, and Agriculture. The Watershed Characterization and Assessment section includes the topics of Historical Conditions, Channel Habitat Typing, Fish, Riparian Conditions, Wetland Conditions, Channel Modifications, Hydrology and Water Use, Water Quality, Sediment Sources, and Restoration Efforts. The Watershed Section Summaries include the topics of a Historical Summary, Channel Habitat Summary, Fish Summary, Riparian Condition Summary, Wetlands Summary, Channel Modifications Summary, Hydrology and Water Use Summary, Water Quality Summary, Sediment Sources Summary, Sensitive Species Summary, and a Watershed Condition Summary.

Purpose: The primary purpose of the watershed assessment is to evaluate how natural and human processes influence the watershed’s ability to produce clean water and suitable habitat for aquatic life. The watershed assessment will serve as a baseline for developing and prioritizing restoration activities. The information collected in this assessment aims to aide the YBC in developing restoration projects and monitoring plans for the Willamina watershed.

Geographic Extent: The Willamina Creek watershed is located in the Yamhill watershed in the Northwestern Willamette Valley. The 52,224-acre watershed is situated on the eastern slope of the Coastal Mountain range.
