Aquatic Inventories Project

Open Date:      February 1, 2007

Classification:         Experimental Biology Aide (no formal class or announcement number)  ~ 2 positions


Salary Range:          $1,814 monthly

                                  Medical, dental, and life plans available


Locations:               1 in Central Point and 1 in Lakeview


Duration:                 June 18 – September 20, 2007


Job Description:   The employees in these positions will be conducting stream habitat surveys and sampling fish populations through snorkeling and electrofishing in western Oregon streams.  Duties include:


* Describing channel morphology, riparian, and instream habitat characteristics.

* Assessing distribution and abundance of fish.

* Keeping accurate and clear data records. 

* Hiking into and along streams daily
