Description
- Abstract: Coos and Curry Counties are the southernmost coastal counties in Oregon. Their eastern county lines extend to the summit of the coast range along some of the most rugged areas in the state. There are basically two types of lakes in these counties, mountain and coastal. Each county has been divided into these segments in describing the lakes. The Kalmiopsis Wild Area in South Curry County has been treated separately because road access is prohibited. Lakes and reservoirs in these counties fill a very important niche in the fisheries picture. They provide resident trout and warm-water fishing which relieves the pressure on local streams that produce the salmon and steelhead.
