This dataset represents an aggregated measure of Species of Concern (SOC) habitat and species distributions for high priorioty terrestrial wildlife species of interest to the Oregn Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW). Species information within this layer includes Federal and State Threatened and Endangered species, candidate species, and ODFW Oregon Conservation Strategy Species. Terrestrial SOC describes places that are expected to contain the resources necessary for continued health of high priority wildlife species populations or important ecological systems expected to provide high value for a diversity of these wildlife species. This layer includes species observations, modeled species distributions, and ODFW Sage-Grouse Core Areas. Please see the ODFW document which describes the prioritization methodologies for more details on how this layer was compiled. If not included with this dataset, the document can be found on http://www.dfw.state.or.us/maps/index.asp or http://www.westgovchat,org.Crucial habitat values are in no way regulatory and do not imply specific avoidance or mitigation measures for a given area. Crucial habitat values should be interpreted as the relative probability, or risk, that a high-priority species or habitat would be encountered in a given area based on the best available scientific information. |
